The RPCS Athletic Complex

Completed in 2008, the RPCS Athletic Complex reflects the school’s commitment to team competition, physical education, lifetime fitness as well as environmental sustainability. This 39,000 square-foot complex was built with state-of-the-art amenities that will serve every student and play an essential role in a healthy RPCS community. It not only celebrates the spirit and well being of RPCS students but also provides them with a place to grow and play that is worthy of their best. Along with the features highlighted below, this facility also has a horizontal climbing wall, additional classroom, meeting and office space, and locker rooms for RPCS students, visiting teams and officials.

RPCS Gymnasium Comprised of Forestry Service Certified (FSC) maple, the gym will house three teaching spaces with one main competition court for badminton, basketball, and volleyball. Spectators can watch all of the action in top-down-feeding stadium seating.

 

 

Megan Smith Rowing Tank An eight station, indoor rowing tank for crew practice and fitness. This facility is the first of its kind in a Maryland High School.




Fisher Field and Lower Field

An upper and lower field comprised of FieldTurf synthetic playing surfaces. FieldTurf is created through a layering process that imitates natural grass. The upper field meets the new U.S. lacrosse and IAAM guidelines. These fields are home to field hockey, lacrosse, and soccer.


Dwyer Fitness Center
The Fitness Center is open to all students and faculty members five days a week. The 3,000 square-foot facility overlooks the turf fields and is equipped with 16 various cardio machines, 20 strength training machines, an array of strength training equipment and two free weight platforms. A Fitness Center Coordinator is available to work with students and help them design a fitness program.


Indoor Track
This suspended, three-lane running track is available to students in physical education classes, after-schools clubs, and team practices.

 



Athletic Training Room
The athletic training room can be accessed by the upper field. It houses two hydrotherapy whirlpools where all RPCS athletes will have access to injury treatment and prevention.

 


Emily Smith Little Bear Child Care Center
The child care facility provides on-site care for employee children under three years of age.
